A pre-show reception with Miss Richfield herself!
Reserved seating availability
Priority: $57.50
Priority tickets include seats with your party's name on it -- literally! You will be given an option of seating preference, and although we can't guarantee we'll be able to meet all of your preferences, our box office staff will do so to the best of our ability.
Standard: $47.50
With standard tickets, we'll still reserve your seat, but we will be unable to accommodate seating requests (unless you have accessibility concerns). The front-of-house staff will reserve your seat on a first-come, first-served basis after the priority seats are accommodated. Note that there's not a bad seat in the house in our intimate theater space!
Please note: if you purchase standard tickets, we cannot always guarantee your whole party will be seated together. There are a limited number of standard seats available at a given performance, and if you purchase a large number of standard tickets, we may not be able to accommodate the full party. If being seated together is important to you, please consider the "priority ticket" option.
ILLUSION once again puts out the red carpet for Miss Richfield 1981‘s Holiday Show -- her 27th year with ILLUSION! Russ King, the man behind Miss Richfield 1981, came up with this brazen and beloved character while he worked at the Minnesota Aids Project (MAP) in the 90’s. Michael Robins was on the MAP Board and offered Russ a spot in ILLUSION’s Fresh Ink Series to try this character out. Miss R has gone on from our stage to become a national treasure.
Bonnie and Michael were active during the transformative late '60s and early '70s, participating in social and political movements such as the Civil Rights Movement, anti-Vietnam War protests, Women’s Rights Movement, and Gay Rights. They witnessed revolutionary theater across the United States, France, England, and Germany. Inspired by this, they founded ILLUSION THEATER, aiming to create plays that bring to light illusions, myths, and realities, fostering personal and social change. Their work invites audiences to question long-held beliefs and imagine new realities.
