Since 1974, Illusion Theater has been renowned for its creativity and expertise in bringing theater to community settings. In 1990, Illusion began to focus its resources and experience on a new community ? the corporate workplace. Like any community, a corporation needs to communicate clearly with its members on order to thrive.
For companies seeking customized and dramatically different training vehicles, Illusion is the premiere partner. Illusion Theater has worked with a variety of corporations to help their employees better deal with a spectrum of workplace issues. These topics have included sexual harassment, diversity, HIV/AIDS in the workplace, work and family issues and team building.
Corporate clients include: Northern States Power Company, Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi, American Express/IDS, General Mills, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Minneapolis Public Housing, Mutual of Omaha, Piper Jaffray, 3M, Carlson Companies, Mall of America, St. Paul Technical Schools, Mutual of Omaha, U.S. Department of Energy and the Minnesota Bankers Association.
Currently there are three areas of corporate services available: performance of one of our repertory productions; customization of a repertory production; or creation of a production based on issues specific to a given organization.
Repertory Productions
The productions in Illusion?s repertory use theater to create strong emotional connections with people ? connections that are generally not made through either lecture or videotape. These dynamic, original productions combine live scenes, moderation and sometimes, songs, in a format that facilitates understanding and encourages discussion about a variety of difficult issues.
Customized Productions
Using the repertory productions as a base, customized presentations can be arranged. A production can be tailored to emphasize a particular issue (like sexual harassment), new scenes can be added to reflect an issue specific to a given corporation ( like workplace violence), or the entire presentation can be targeted to a specific group within an organization (like middle-upper management). Productions utilizing a moderator can be "personalized" to include appropriate company policies thereby creating a training specific to the organization.
Creation of a New Production
Illusion Theater can create a new production based on the specific needs of an organization. Elements, specific to a single company or entire industry can be used to build a dynamic and highly effective training vehicle. Past examples include the topics of: affordable housing through the eyes of different faith communities, the culture and community created within a large food production company, and conveying the diversity policies of a Midwest energy utility to its 7000 employees.
