Ellen Fenster

The 2010 Lights Up! Series marks Ellen’s fifth year working on Lights Up! as a producer, curator, director and performer. She is an Artistic Associate at Illusion where she has helped develop and direct many new plays.

Since 2001, Ellen has also been a company member at Pillsbury House Theatre where she has acted and directed as part of Breaking Ice and currently runs PHT's Chicago Avenue Project, a program that partners neighborhood youth with professional theatre artists for a night of performance. Ellen works as a freelance director whenever she can and loves teaching movement to her students at theater e3, a summer theater institute for children. In the Fall of 2009, Ellen took over as director of the South High theater program where she directed Our Town with her fabulous students. Ellen feels blessed and joyful about her work in general.
